Why did I pick my name?
I have multiple personalities.
I am a mom, wife, entrepreneur, student, and a herstorian. Using one domain would allow me to create subdomains for the different personalities. This would be helpful if I wanted to send people who have an interest in my research to my domain regarding the research I’m doing about Somerset Beach. If someone wanted to know more about my popcorn company, I could send them to that site. I could also do another site about what it’s like to start a small business.
My popcorn company, Northern Neck Popcorn Bag, is turning 10 in October. It’s been quite a journey and I am planning a big 10th anniversary celebration next month. Lots of history to share.

For my popcorn company I have somewhere around 28,000 followers on my facebook and instagram pages. I have someone who posts for me and we post a lot. Instagram not so much and I do think I need to increase what I’m doing there. I have an ecommerce site and people can buy my popcorn and I will ship it to them anywhere in the country. Somerset Beach
About 5 years ago I started researching a little community that has practically disappeared from the public memory. I am going to change that. This was a property that was owned by Black Washingtonians during Reconstruction an later the property became an African American resort on the Potomac River. There’s a lot to tell.
